Portfolio of 5 signed color woodcuts laid loose in a folder with two additional woodcuts, one on the cover and the other on the back of the folder. 31x24 cm (12¼x9½"). All housed in the original black portfolio lettered in gilt.

The 5 loose woodcuts are signed by Ruzicka neatly in pencil at the bottom of each.

Rudolph Ruzicka was a Czech-born American wood engraver, etcher, illustrator, typeface designer, and book designer. Ruzicka designed typefaces and wood engraving illustrations for Daniel Berkeley Updike's Merrymount Press, and was a designer for, and consultant to, the Mergenthaler Linotype Company for fifty years.
