Ruffino Riserva Ducale 1974 Chianti Classico Riserva DOC, Italy1 bottle (75cl) u. mid; slightly raised cork; original tissues Provenance: From the private cellar of a former Secretary of the Irish Guild of Sommeliers, assembled principally during the 1970s and 1980s and retained at the family home ever since. Recent tastings have shown a number of bottles to remain sound and drinking well for their age. First produced in 1927, Riserva Ducale is one of Ruffino’s most historic wines and a longstanding benchmark for traditional Chianti Classico Riserva. Mature examples of the 1974 have shown developed notes of tobacco, truffle, earth and savoury fruit.
