Description de la Tartarie Tiree en Partie de Plusieurs Cartes, map of Tartary, showing central and northern Asia, with Korea illustrated as an island and Terre de Iesso is found across a narrow straight from the legendary lands of Gog and Magog, engraving with outline hand-colouring on laid paper with watermark of a bunch of grapes, sheet 430 x 580 mm. (17 x 22 3/4 in), central vertical fold, handling creases and surface dirt, faint damp-stain in the upper right corner, unframed, 1654; together with a good group of 28 further maps of Russia, including Jannsonius's 'Tartaria Sive Magni Chami Imperium', and others by Sebastian Munster, Nicolas Sanson, Seutter, van der Aa, de Vaugondy, Zatta, Bellin, Bonne, and others, engravings and lithographs, some with hand-colouring, various sizes, largest 400 x 520 mm.
