Rustic Walnut Cabinet a Deux Corps. This continental painted cupboard features a molded cornice over two cupboard doors, a galleried shelf section, and two drawers centered by an oval above two more cupboard doors centered by a panel, all standing on ribbed step feet. Composed of antique elements and possibly of French origin. Measures approximately 76" x 53 1/2" x 18 1/2". The cabinet has been restored/altered with married elements and the feet have been replaced. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
