Inscription: Signed, numbered and titled with the artist's monogram at the bottom of the printing plate.

Date: 1740

Description: Old-master depiction of a full-figure Italian beret salesman. After a drawing by Annibale Carracci from the series "Diverse figure al numero di ottanta, disegnate di penna Nell'hore di ricreatione da Annibale Carracci, intagliate in rame, E cavate dagli Originale da Simone Guilino Parigino. Dedicate a tutti i virtuosi Et Itendenti della Prosessione della Pittoura, e del Disegno. Rome : Lodovico Grignani, 1646", from which number 39. Presumably this is a later reprint from an 18th century edition.

Condition: Rather good condition. Faintly wavy and pale foxing in places. There is a pale liquid stain at upper left. In the centre there is a full-page horizontal crease. The image makes a very good impression.
