Condition: mint Sculpture: Diameter : 25 mm Signed: S. Kinsburger Sylvain Kinsburger, born in Paris on 21st January 1855 and died in the same city in 1935, is a French sculptor and medallist. Very rare object Provenance : Ancient private museum close to Saumur, the first city in France where medal-striking was allowed as early as 1860 outside the official currency of Paris. Medium: The resulting hallmark (presenting the embossed motif) is soaked in order to reach a great hardness. A new pressing makes it possible to obtain the matrix with the subject in hollow. A steel engraver performs finishes and the matrix is hardened by soaking. A rare and exceptional piece.
