Fine 100% silk bedspread, richly decorated with Oriental motifs. The bedspread is made of damask fabric, finished on three sides with a wide fringe. Colour: cobalt blue The fabric is well preserved, without tears, it shows very few signs of ageing. Coming from an inheritance. Probably made between the late 1800s and early 1900s. The fabric shows no rips nor tears. In 1800, San Leucio was a city known worldwide as one of the most illustrious textile schools. The silk fabrics produced in San Leucio were exported all over the world and have been used to furnish the Vatican, the White House and Buckingham Palace. Some pictures do not show the true colour of the bedspread due to the reflection of the light on the shiny silk. The colour has a warm shade that gives brightness to any setting.
