SA DAGGER
SA Dagger with hanger, 8.75 in blade, 13.75 overall, brown wood grip inset with S.A runes button with worn enamel, and an eagle and swastika device. The wood of the grip itself bears just a few tiny dings, and the plated cross guard still retains a good edge, but has a little bit of corrosion where they meet the wood grip in a near-perfect fit. The blade is etched with the motto of the organization: ‘Alles fur Deutschland' (‘All for Germany') and it bears moderate running marks but no chipping or edge wear, with the maker mark ‘Ed. Wusthof Solingen'. The reverse of the lower cross guard is stamped ‘H', indicating the regional branch of the SA to which the owner belonged. This stamp also indicates that the dagger was manufactured prior to 1935. The anodized brown scabbard fits perfectly, with all the nickel screws in place, no dents or dings and only a few tiny surface scratches, while ‘ball' termination bears some dents. With the original leather strap with fully operational clip, not marked. Leather bears some wear but is intact. Overall a near fine piece.
