An interesting miscellaneous collection of manuscripts and a number of printed fascicles relating to causes of beatification and canonisation submitted to the Sacred Congregation of Rites, the papal dicastery established by Sixtus V in 1588 and entrusted, among its other functions, with the examination of the causes of Servants of God. The collection comprises approximately thirty proceedings concerning, among others, Camillus de Lellis (1550-1614), Catherine de' Ricci (1522-1590), John Baptist of the Conception (1561-1613), founder of the Discalced Trinitarians, Alexander Sauli (1534-1592), Jane Frances Frémiot de Chantal (1572-1641), Jerome Emiliani (1486-1537), founder of the Somaschi, Nicolás Factor (1520-1583), Francis de Geronimo (1642-1716), Alessandro Luzzago (1551-1602), Girolamo Baldinucci (1665-1717), Angelo da Clavasio (1411-1495), Francesco del Castillo, Peter of Betancur (1626-1667), Veronica Giuliani (1660-1727), and Aloysius Gonzaga (1568-1591).
