SAM FRANCIS
1923 - 1994
UNTITLED

acrylic on paper mounted on canvas
91.4 by 61.3 cm. 36 by 24⅛ in.
Executed in 1986.

This work is identified with the interim identification number of SF86-070 in consideration for the forthcoming Sam Francis: Catalogue Raisonné of Unique Works on Paper. This information is subject to change as scholarship continues by the Sam Francis Foundation.

Condition Report:
Colour:
The colour in the catalogue illustration is fairly accurate, although the paper tones are warmer and the colours more vivid in the original.

Condition:
This work is good condition. The lower left, upper left and upper right sections of the paper are slightly lifted from the canvas. Close inspection reveals the paper has slightly yellowed, most notably to the upper and right edge, which is in keeping with the natural aging process. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.

In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective, qualified opinion. Prospective buyers should also refer to any Important Notices regarding this sale, which are printed in the Sale Catalogue.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF BUSINESS PRINTED IN THE SALE CATALOGUE.
