SCARCE 25-20 MODEL 53 WINCHESTER SOLID FRAME RIFLE

Cal. 25-20 WCF. S# 203 (1924). The 22" round barrel is fitted with semi-buckhorn rear sight; gold bead front sight is in integral ramp. Winchester markings including model, "NICKEL STEEL" and caliber are at left rear. 92 type action has Winchester markings on top tang. Walnut buttstock is fitted with serrated steel buttplate. Half magazine and forend are held by steel cap. CONDITION: very good. Metal parts retaining a goodly amount of original blue under lightly cleaned overall rusting presenting a heavy salt and pepper appearance to action. Stocks have oil added to their original finish with a good many marks and scratches. Bore is bright, sharp and shiny. Mechanically fine. (26-4229/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
