SCARCE ENGLISH FLINTLOCK PAGET CARBINE

SERIAL NUMBER: N/A, BARREL: 20" CALIBER: ..75 MFG: Early 19th century. The Paget carbine was named after Henry Paget, Earl of Uxbridge who was Wellington?s cavalry commander at Waterloo, and it was introduced in 1812. The carbine is in original flintlock configuration. Barrel has V rear sight and post front sight. Lock is marked Tower with Crown Over GR. Hardware is brass. Has full length walnut stock CONDITION: Good, Mostly smooth metal with scattered light pitting and patina. Lock is well marked and works properly. The brass has been cleaned and is turning to patina. It is missing the swivel ram rod and the ring on the sling bar. The stock has period carving on both sides of the butt and there are several cracks and wood missing at the tang. ANTIQUE
