Bbl. 2". 1 of only 3,777 reported Model 37 Chiefs Special Airweight double action revolvers mfg. by Smith & Wesson with an alloy cyl. The left side of the bbl. is marked "SMITH & WESSON", with "AIRWEIGHT" above the cal. designation marked on the right. Left side of frame exhibits the Smith & Wesson trademark logo, with the right exhibiting S&W's mfg. information. Alloy frame exhibits a high polish black finish, with the alloy cyl. exhibiting a matte black finish. Blued bbl., with case color hardened trigger and hammer. Frame is mounted with 2-piece S&W medallion checkered wood grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, bbl., as well as on the interior of the right grip panel. Cyl. and ejector are numbered "28470". CONDITION: frame and bbl. retains bountiful amounts of their original factory finish, exhibiting a few scattered superficial handling marks. Cyl. exhibits scattered superficial handling marks, with light edge wear overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. PROVENANCE: the Collection of Gun Sport Ltd owned by Jon R.
