Folio (292 x 203 mm). Title within a four-part woodcut decorative border signed by Urs Graf, 9 larger woodcut illustrations by Hans Schäufelein (all but the first signed) and one other woodcut by a different artist. Each illustration is surrounded by a woodcut border printed from four blocks by an anonymous artist. Contemporary limp vellum. Intermittent some light browning and staining.

First edition published outside Italy. The woodcuts by Hans Schäufelein, pupil of Albrecht Dürer, are among his best works. The work is also remarkable for its typography by Thomas Anshelm. Muther, Die Deutsche Bücherillustration 912; VD16 15215.
