SCHERMERHORN POTTERY ATTRIBUTED, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with beaded neck, single incised shoulder ring, applied arched handles, and slightly rounded rim. Brushed cobalt horizontal floral decoration on each side, additional cobalt across handles and to terminals. Attributed to Richmond Factory, John P. Schermerhorn (1788-1850) or Stephen B. Sweeney, Henrico Co., Virginia. Circa 1817-1837.
Condition: Undamaged, needs cleaning.
Size: 9 1/8" H, 5 3/8" D rim.
