Having an engraved blade, depicting crossed cannons, banners, flags, and acanthus leaves and inscribed "E Pluribus Unum. A pierced design shell guard with an eagle with a gilt finish. Brass wire wrapped ray skin hilt. A metal scabbard with brass fittings. Engravings on one scabbard band inscribed "To Col. N. L. McMillen From His Wife 95th Regt. O.V.G.". Overall length 38 1/2".
