SCOTTISH BASKET HILT BROAD SWORD.
Scottish Infantry officer’s broadsword made for the Highland Regiments c. 1820 with a double-edged blade marked on the ricasso "A. & A. S." made by August & Albert Schnitzler, Solingen. The hilt is comprised of bars, double rings and panels, and a leather covered spiral carved grip. CONDITION: Blade appears to be mostly bright beneath a coating of old lacquer, hilt grey with areas of minor dark staining. Leather grip with areas of wear to the black finish.
