SCRIMSHAW WALRUS TUSK 19th Century

Depicts the H.M.S. Blenheim and two other ships anchored off cliffs known as the Downs in southern England, a departure point for British whalers headed to the South Sea Fishery. The Blenheim is flying a Union Jack off the bow and a British ensign off the stern. The ship is identified in script lettering below scene. Length 25".
