20th c., in 19th c. style: Large Bull Whale Tooth inscribed "The End of a Tail of a Whale", depicting whale submerging, longboat and iceberg, with engraved oval silver plate "Miriam Coffin, 1840, and marked "From your friend C.C. Kotzebues", mounted on a base with another whale in relief engraved "J.P. Knowles II, Thomas Knowles & Co." 8" long tooth, 4 1/4" x 10" x 4 1/2" overall. Fine condition.
