ENGRAVED COLT OPEN TOP POCKET REVOLVER. Cal. 22 Short. S# 79777. Bbl. 2 3/8" ejectorless with half moon front sight. Matching numbers on bbl., butt & grips. Second type non stylized bbl. key. 4th Variation 1 piece low hammer. 2 Piece smooth natural white bird's head grips. Frame & bbl. are nickel plated. Sides of frame decorated with foliate scroll engraving over punch dot background. Cyl engraved with simple foliate scroll. CONDITION: Frame & bbl. retain 85-90% original nickel with light high edge wear and lightly scattered fine handling marks. Cyl has been cleaned to gray metal with evidence of prior pitting visible. Very good grips are yellowing with age. Left panel has full length stable hairline age crack extending upward from bottom to top. Right panel show 3 small age cracks extending from grip screw escutcheon. Bore show strong rifling with scattered areas of light to moderate oxidation. (01-29842/BH). ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500
