Cops and robbers blast gats, create corpses. Corpses were cash in pre-Code crypt-o-currency, making millions for publishers a dime at a time.

"I feel as though I have been trudging through a sewer. Here is a terrible twilight zone between sanity and madness, an area peopled by monsters, grave robbers, human flesh eaters. Here everything that the human mind has come to venerate and respect through the years of civilization is spat upon and trampled. Here ordinary murder is mild — mix it with sex, sadism, adultery, patricide, matricide, necrophilia, vampirism. Only in the tamest volumes is a character permitted to die by knife or gun. This is the literary offal we have been permitting a few conscienceless publishers to pour into the minds of our children — for profit!" — From a 1954 newspaper article on comics, cited in Martin Barker's A Haunt of Fears: The Strange History of the British Horror Comics Campaign. University Press of Mississippi: 1984, p. 33.

A limited edition of 150 softcover and 15 hardcover catalogues is available. 400 lots, fully illustrated. Fun reference, great keepsake. Softcover $30, deluxe hardcover with dust jacket and limitation plate $200. Ten of the 15 hardcovers are pre-ordered and the rest will go quickly, so reserve yours now.
