SENUFO
Pair of large Pombilele or Deble figures
Pombilele statues are representations of spirits of ancestors. They are used during processions.
They are sometimes confused with the famous Deble statues (rythm pounders).
According to the site "Detours des Mondes", it would be rather here "Pombilele" because the "Deble" would not be a couple but only female.
A visit to the site Artkhade suggests otherwise. The question remains open to me.
If you know more about it, I'm interested
