4 Large 1976 reproductions of 18th century G.W. Inaugural buttons
These buttons were made from original molds of the 18th century examples of these Inaugural designs. Viviane Ertell, her museum and Liberty Village in Flemington N.J. commissioned the production of these in 1974 and sold them individually and in framed sets of 4 like this one. This is one of the 150 framed sets originally produced. These buttons were made to celebrate the upcoming 1976 Bi-Centennial. The image of the back shows black around the shank, this is not damage just simply residue of the black velvet their attached to, that image is from another set but exactly the same back mark.
