SET OF TEN JAPANESE IMARI BOWLS IN ORIGINAL BOX, EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1756), SOLD BY YAMANAKA & CO., WITH TRANSLATIONS BY YAMANAKA & CO. the bowls with underglaze blue central roundels depicting leaves and tight foliate scroll enclosed within a colored band of alternating landscape and gilt-highlighted brocade sections, the reverse with blue and white scrolling karakusa, gilt highlights, each bowl bearing spurious Chenghua marks under foot, each bowl wrapped in blue coarse cotton cloth, the interior of the box lid with translation on Yamanaka stationery and two typed and signed guarantees from Yamanaka in envelopes, dia: 5.5 in.
