SEVRES CHATEAU DES TUILERIES PORCELAIN PORTRAIT PLATES & AN UNMARKED FLORAL PLATE 4 DIA 10"

A group of three hand painted portrait plates and one floral plate. The three portrait plates are Sevres. The first depicts Madame du Pompadour with a border decorated with flower swags and has a diameter of approximately 10." The second, measuring approximately 9.5" in diameter, depicts the Duchess de Bourgogne wearing an ermine trimmed cape within a central medallion of gold roses and acanthus leaves, surrounded by a blue ground with a neoclassical shell and scroll fired gold rim. The third portrait plate has a 10" diameter with a scrolled edge and depicts an Art Nouveau poppy woman with an elaborate Bohemian headdress. She is surrounded by floral swags and gilded scrolls and the reverse has a blue Sevres double L mark with an S. The last plate has a central medallion of flowers with a rim of cobalt and fired gold interspersed with three cartouches with floral swags and has a diameter of 10.5" This plate was once marked but has only the remnants of green paint remaining. There are Sevres marks on the portrait plates as well as the red iron mark of the Chateau des Tuileries.
