Signed vintage 1971 framed Spanish Riders Crewel embroidery. Signed in lower right corner, dated 1971. This piece was originally released as a DIY craft kit by needlework designer Elsa Williams. Black embroidery on a beige canvas. Symmetrical branches placed in the middle, splitting the composition. On either side of the tree are mirrored Spanish riders depicted in profile wear helmets while holding swords and sitting on top of decorative horses. Repeating geometric floral and scroll border. Set in a chrome style frame. Marked on backside as photographed here. Measures approx 21 x 32.5 inches. Not examined outside of frame. Some scratching to frame, ripping to backside of frame.
