SHABTI FOR GENERAL ANKH-WAHIBRE-SA-NEITH

Description: This ushabti figurine is depicted as a worker holding two hoes for work in the fields of Osiris in the afterlife. He is wearing a tripartite wig which falls down between the shoulders. He has an Osiris-type beard which ends in a tight forward curl. Only the hands, crossed over the chest and holding the already-mentioned agricultural implements, emerge from the mummiform shroud covering the entire body.On his body can be seen 10 lines of horitzontal hieroglyphic text, that join up with a panel without inscription on the back of the figure. The figure is mounted on a small plinth. In the text we find Chapter VI from the Book of the Dead which refers to the ushebtis and the name of the owner for whom they were made, Ankhwahibre-Saneith, son of Isetkheb and Psametico. He was a well-known general in Dynasty XXVI. A total of 384 ushebtis were found in his tomb and recorded by James Edward Quibell at the beginning of the 20th century..| Egypt, Saqqara, 26th Dynasty. 664-525 B.C

Condition: Very fine condition Notes: The piece includes authenticity certificate. For reasons of data protection, when the provenance of the pieces is private collections, only the initials of the particular collectors are shown, the complete information of these collections will be delivered to the buyer in the authenticity certificate. |The piece includes Spanish Export License ( Passport for European Union) - If the piece is destined outside the European Union a substitution of the export permit should be requested and an export fee must be paid ( see terms and conditions ). This process could take between 1 and 2 months.
