SHARPS 1852 SLANT BREECH SADDLE RING CARBINE.
Cal. 56. S#. 3558. Approx 5000 of this model was mfg from 1853-55. Fit with a 21" round bbl with brass blade front sight, squirrel ear rear sight & SHARPS RIFLE/MANUFG CO./HARTFORD. CONN bbl address. It is held in place with a single brass bbl band that attaches to the 9" saddle ring bar. Walnut stock set with brass patchbox and buttplate. CONDITION: Overall good. The metal is void of finish with a lightly cleaned grey patina and strong markings. Stock is hand worn with added varnish and has some wood loss around the forearm bbl channel and frame. Nice bore with strong rifling and some light small patches of pitting. (01-30245/ZAL) ANTIQUE $1800-2700
