Vintage Nantucket Woven Basket Purse, by artisan Sherwin Boyer, mid-20th c., with inlaid mahogany eagle and shield wooden lid panel, leather front flap with brass hasp and loop, base stamped with Boyer's circular mark and 'Nantucket, Mass.' in script, shadow of where original paper label was affixed, 11 1/2" high (handle up), 9 1/2" x 7". Leather band holding peg broken (peg present).
