SIGNED JAPANESE PRESENTATION FLAG, SIGNED BY VICE-ADMIRAL TAKAICHI KANAYA
Great silk Japanese presentation national flag, 27.5 x 40 in., signed by Japanese vice-admiral TAKAICHI KANAYA and likely given to a fellow Japanese soldier, bearing Kanaya's kanji signature and an untranslated inscription towards the right and left edges. The corners of the hoist ends bear two paper reinforcements, each holding a since un-tied cord loop for hanging. Lightly soiled at spots, some spots of foxing, else very good to near fine condition. Sold with an additional scanned label, containing a brief account of Kanaya's military career.
