SILVER HILTED EAGLE HEAD POMMEL SWORD WITH SCABBARD.
Last quarter 18th century. Slightly curved double-fullered English blade stamped "HARVEY" at the ricasso on both sides. Silver S-shaped guard terminating with an eagle head on both sides. Eagles chased in the center on both sides. Gadrooned green-dyed ivory grip that tapers towards the guard. Silver eagle head pommel connected by two silver chains to the guard. Complete with its original black leather scabbard with silver drag. CONDITION: Blade retains a grey patina with light scattered pitting. Hilt appears to have a gilt wash with generous amounts remaining. Pommel is loose. Grip very good. Scabbard missing two top mounts and shows some losses to stitching surface.
