Cal. 38 S&W. S# 4089. Bbl. 4". Round blade front sight and V-notch rear sight. Nickel finish with a case-colored hammer & spur trigger. Matching numbers on cyl., frame, and bbl. latch. Bbl. has a two-line address with several patent dates, including "REISSUE JULY 25 1871." Black checkered grips marked "S&W" at the top. Both grip panels have matching white penciled numbers. CONDITION: grips show some flattened points and handling wear. Trigger & hammer are mostly faded to gray with some oxidation and traces of case colors. The balance of metal retains 85% of its nickel, with a drag line on the cyl., a few spots of pitting, scattered flaking, oxidation, and some scratches.
