18th c. English Papier Mache Snuff Box with hinged friction fit lid, faux tortoiseshell exterior having inlaid silver ivy border and blossom center, black lacquer interior, 1" x 3 1/2" x 1 7/8". Minor separation, edge loss. Old note inside reads: "Phillip, This snuff box was given to me more than 40 years ago. It came out of the Home of George Washington, Mount Vernon, Va."
