SODIBRA - c.1925
SODIBRA - c.1925
“SODIBRA Beer—the one I love”
Signed “After Jean d’Ylen”
Rare original lithographed advertising glassoid with beveled edges and a working thermometer. 26.5 x 20.7 cm. “S.A.P.I. – Marseille”
In very fine condition—
The original colors are remarkably well preserved, and the surface has a beautiful sheen.
There are very slight signs of wear that do not detract from the appearance.
The graphic composition is perfectly balanced; Jean d’Ylen, true to his talent, presents a joyful, generous, and dynamic take on modern advertising.
Founded in 1920 through the merger of eight local distilleries and breweries in response to the industrial challenges of the postwar period, SODIBRA (Société des Distilleries et Brasseries d’Aurillac) established its industrial site in the Maison Neuve neighborhood (now Avenue des Carmes and Rue Salvador-Allende). It was acquired by Champigneulles in the 1960s.
