A Chinese gilt bronze figure of Amitayus, he is seated in dhyanasana on a throne backed by a flaming mandorla, hands in a meditative position holding a now lacking kalasa or bowl, wearing a flowing robe, jewellery and an elaborate crown. Inscription on front of throne: Made in Qianlong period Gengyin year with respect (1770). Qianlong 1736–1795. Weight 1217 g. H. 20 cm.
