An original American b/w press or still photograph of the Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune (1920–1997) in his role as Yoshi Toranaga (Lord Toranaga) in the NBC tv-series “Shogun” from 1980. Back with Toshiro Mifune's name. Photo size 23×17.5 cm. Frame size 43×33 cm.

Toshiro Mifune acted in 170 movies throughout his life. He is especially known for his work with the director Akira Kurosawa between 1948 and 1965, which - among other titles - resulted in “Rashomon”, “The seven Samurais” and “Yojimbo”. The later part of his life brought him the role as Lord Toranaga, based upon James Clavell's novel “Shogun” (1980).
