American, circa 1840. Dry, patinated walnut case with eight-tin front and single hinged door punched with fylfots and hearts. Each side with overlapping tins in the same design. Tall, turned foot measures 11.25"h. Overall, 52"h. 52"w. 18"d. Purchased at the Heartland Antique Show in Richmond, IN.
Condition Report: The top is cupped and has a lot of edge wear and loss. Edge wear on corners, tins are in good condition with some dents and oxidation. Bottom tin on right end has damage. Lower knob on door was added to cover keyhole. Door latch is an old replacement and the three holes over the door are ghost of another latch. Traces of original red and green paint, some surface wear and water stains.
