United States Spanish American War Service medal that is numbered 23638 on the rim at the 6 o'clock position. Split brooch. Original ribbon and brooch in excellent condition. Measures 2.875" x 1.375". Any member of the United States Army who served on active duty between April 20, 1898 and April 11,1899, but was not eligible to receive the Spanish Campaign medal, was eligible to receive this medal.
