ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-40. S# 137913A. Bbl. 28" oct., w/ full mag. Dovetail front sight w/ dovetail adj. rear sight. Uncheckered forend. Uncheckered straight grip stock. Crescent steel buttplate w/ trapdoor containing 4 piece steel cleaning rod w/ brass tip. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter providing the following information "Type: Rifle / Caliber: 38 / Barrel Type: Octagon / Barrel Length: 28 inches / Trigger: Plain / Received in warehouse on October 26, 1883 / Shipped from warehouse on November 26, 1883, Order number 9361". CONDITION: original bbl. blue has darkened to blend w/ brown patina. Mag. tube has turned brown patina. Receiver has dark original blue w/ wear on sharp edges. Forend has a hand worn finish w/ a few nicks & dings. Buttstock has original finish w/ numerous dings, dents & hand worn in the grip area. Bore is good. (01-17905/BT). ANTIQUE. $3,500-4,500.
