SERIAL NUMBER N/A BARREL 42" CALIBER 69 PERCUSSION, MANUFACTURED 1841.Produced by Springfield as the model 1840 Flintlock musket. Converted to percussion using the Belgian cone pattern conversion for continued use by Militia units and secondary US Military units. These are the guns are the early US Civil war and were extensively. Barrel and lock dated 1841 with lock having SPRINFIELD markings. 3 barrel retaining bands with rammer and integral front band / front blade sight. All iron furniture 2 visible cartouche on left stock flat. A small "FS" inspection exist to rear of trigger guard plate. CONDITION. Good as found and uncleaned with dirty but excellent bright bore. Exterior has staining and areas of heavier corrosion at rear band . Lock operates properly and nipple is fine. ANTIQUE
