SERIAL NUMBER 449618 BARREL 22" CALIBER 45-70 GOV'T MAUFACTURED 1889. Produced at the height of the Indian wars this Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor carbine with Buffington adjustable rear sight with saddle ring and ring bar and walnut stock was well used. Blade front sight with 2 piece trigger guard and serrated trigger. Steel carbine butt plate with trap for tools. Serial numbered on rear of receiver, 3 position tumbler. CONDITION, Fair with oxidized exterior from use and exposure to elements. Stock is good, full sized and fully intact with a trace of a cartouche on right side. Bore is good with strong rifling. Action operates properly. A great honest Trapdoor carbine with that western look. ANTIQUE
