A U.S. Springfield Model 1835, .69 cal. smooth bore flintlock musket. Having a 41" Barrel. A full-length one piece, walnut stock, and forearm. Stamped on the lockplate: "Springfield 1835" and "U.S." under the Springfield Armory eagle. Stamped "U.S." on the steel butt plate tang. Stamped on the front trigger guard tang: "DBFH". Early hand carved monogram on shoulder stock, "JPF". Small "S" marks (Springfield) stamped on metal parts.
