STAMPED "G.W. BODELL & BRO / BLACKSBURG, VA.", VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "1 1/2" gallon capacity mark, wide-mouth form with incised ring below the rounded flat-top rim. Brushed cobalt strawberry decoration to front with two slanted stripes above. The shop of David Bodell, and his sons, George and Edward, Blacksburg, Montgomery Co., VA. 1870-1890.
Condition: Good condition except having flake to base with later drilled hole to bottom center.
Size: 9" H, 9" D rim.
