HICKERSON / (STAR) / STRASBURG / VIRGINIA.", SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE CROCK, salt-glazed, "1 1/2" gallon capacity mark, cylindrical form with squared rim, incised ring below. Brushed cobalt dropped leaves full round. The pottery of James M. Hickerson (1833-1902). Circa 1890.
