STAMPED "KEESEE & PARR, / RICHMOND.", VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "3" gallon capacity mark, shouldered cylindrical form with bead below the slightly irregular squared rim, applied arched handles, with Albany-slip glazed interior. Brushed cobalt upright tulip and foliage decoration on each side, additional cobalt at handle terminals. David Parr Jr. (1819-1882) working as Keesee & Parr (active 1858-1865), Richmond, VA. 1858-1865.
Condition: Undamaged. Firing imperfections, including kiln kisses and pops, as made.
Size: 14" H, 8 1/4" D rim.
