STAMPED "P MCOY. / NC", RANDOLPH CO., NORTH CAROLINA STONEWARE JUG, salt-glazed, "2" gallon capacity mark, graceful ovoid form with two bands of light incised lines on shoulder, and faint double-groove strap handle. Stamped "P M(high dot)COY. / N C / 2". Paschal McCoy (1816-1876), Randolph Co., NC. Mid 19th century.

Condition: Radial hairline from neck to shoulder and chip to base edge.

Size: 13 3/4" H.

Provenance: Provenance: Property from the estate collection of Dan and Doris Chrisman, Roanoke, VA.Catalogue Note: Paschal's son, John, and his grandson, John Paschal Marable, were also potters. The Mint Museum owns two pieces by Paschal McCoy.
