STEICHEN EDWARD: (1879-1973) Luxembourgish-American Photographer and Painter. A Pioneer, since his works were first published in Alfred Stieglitz´s Camera Work from 1903 to 1917, later becoming a fashion photographer, working for Vogue or Vanity Fair. Regarded in the 1930´s as the best known and highest paid photographer in the world. Steichen also directed the documentary The Fighting Lady in 1945, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary. A good signed 8 x 10 photograph by Steichen, the image depicting him in a close-up portrait pose. Signed in bold black ink to the bottom right corner `Edward Steichen´, also dated in his hand.
