STUNNING ORIGINAL GLAZED OFFICE DISPLAY CASE FROM THE FAMOUS COTTON MILL.

An amazing and most unique survival from the heyday of the Victorian Textile industry. Measuring 23" x 19" x 4" deep. Containing original Cotton samples with descriptive labels. A little rubbed and age-toned but nonetheless a QUITE SUPERB Museum piece ! ( N.B. Buyer collects as the item is very heavy and being glazed would defy posting !) Horrockses was founded in Preston in 1791 as a Cotton manufacturer and became one of the most famous in the country with a world wide reputation. In 1946 the company started Horrockses Fashions Limited and the Horrockses label was born. The clothing was designed by designers in London, using cotton that was designed and produced by the Horrockses Mill in Preston. It is from here that this Display Cabinet would have graced the wall of the entrance lobby or main office.
