STUNNING SATSUMA VASE, MEIJI. Comprising a large and impressive heavily decorated satsuma vase resting on four scrolled feet atop an integral ring base, the sides finely decorated with mums, butterflies and other blossoming trees, the shoulders set with large gilt mask handles with fan shaped drops and the neck with gilt medallion decoration. Signed on underside of base. Height 23.5 inches (60 cm).

Condition Report: Overall very good to excellent condition. Ultraviolet black light examination reveals no restoration or repairs. The vast majority of the gilt silvered and decorated surface is untouched, original and unaffected. The sides of the ring base show some rub marks and wear consistent with age.
