Sadko—Russian Lacquer Box—Signed—1979

Sadko finds himself in the Kingdom of the King of the Ocean. Finely detailed Russian Lacquer box, decorated in Mstyora attributed to Antonovsky, dated 1979. Hinged rectangle box measures 9 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2". Excellent condition with no damage or repairs. This box is from an important collection, many pieces of which are in this sale, with some having been featured in the book Russian Lacquers, Legends and Fairy Tales by Lucy Maxym, published 1981.
